Red Ribbon Week is celebrated nationally at this time every year in many schools.
It was started to honor a DEA agent, who worked to prevent and prosecute criminal activity related to illegal drugs.
TJES Students and staff will receive a red ribbon (with self-adhesive strip) to wear on their shirts daily. The week provides staff and parents with additional opportunities to teach students about being drug-free and making healthy choices. Contact your child's teacher or school counselor if you or your child needs information about, or help with, making healthy choices (don't we all!).
Optional related spirit days, during Red Ribbon Week, are listed below:
Monday: ROCK THE RED! - Wear red to celebrate Red Ribbon Week
Tuesday: BE YOURSELF DAY - Wear your favorite t-shirt, har and/or crazy hair.
Wednesday: STRESS LESS DAY - Wear your pajamas
Thursday: SCHOOL SPIRIT DAY - Orange you glad to be at TJ?
Friday: SPORTS, STAY HEALTHY - Do 60 minutes of activity a day.

Monday: parents, you can look at redribbon.org for more info
Tuesday: it's healthy to have a positive attitude about how you are unique...to resist peer pressure and strive to "be yourself"
Wednesday: taking time to relax and be comfortable and taking a break from strict routines can help you deal with and prevent some stress, rather than choosing unhealthy habits or stress relievers
Thursday: staying in school and pursuing education--committing to being life-long learners--can help a person avoid drugs and other unhealthy choices
Friday: exercise releases happy chemicals in the brain and can improve sleep, fitness, strength and overall health...it's a better choice than alcohol/drugs/tobacco for coping with stress and spending time with others
